Exhibition Details
Arabesque was defined in the CAC catalog as: “1. Arabian in influence. 2. An ornament or style that employs flower, foliage, fruit and sometimes animal or figural outlines to produce an intricate pattern of interlaced, sometimes angular, sometimes curved lines."
“This exhibition presents an assessment of the recent interest on the part of selected contemporary artists in patterns, ornamentation and the complexities of organically based design” (Ruth Meyer, Arabesque).
