Daniel Arsham: Remember the Future

Daniel Arsham has been described as the future’s archeologist and a first glance of this show may lead you to think it has been transported from some distant future. Ashram’s sculptures, cast from materials like volcanic ash and crushed marble look like figures Pompeii or items from an archeological dig. Upon closer examination you will discover they are not relics but rather items from the near past and figures clothed in contemporary attire. The film, Future Relic 2,only furthers this dystopian look at our current culture. Set in the future, James Franco plays a scientist who examines and destroys the objects left by our now ended culture. These fictional archeological objects become a distorted time capsule encouraging us to question our recent past and our future.

Bob Genheimer

George Rieveschl Curator of Archaeology for the Cincinnati Museum Center

His roles at the museum include supervising the archaeology laboratory, facilitating research on the collections, and conducting field research into prehistoric and historic archaeology. He has processed and catalogued over 300 artifacts and has been widely published.

Dave Hart

Chef, Collective CAC

Dave’s journey into food started in Seattle when he stumbled into a job at a boutique neighborhood grocery that needed someone to create the prepared foods. Shortly after, he completed his studies at the Oregon Culinary institute and began his career working in the restaurant industry of Seattle. His long time friendship with co-owner of Collective CAC, Dustin Miller, tied with the interesting character and soul of Cincinnati drew him back to his home state about five years ago. An exhaustive search for a good cup of coffee, easily found in Seattle but not so in Cincinnati, lead to the opening of Collective Espresso. Dave’s passion for food inspired the partners to develop Collective CAC. Dave’s menus are influenced by the unique history and culture of Cincinnati.
