Lorin Edwin Parker and Sarah Seelig’s collaborative project Rocket Parlour rounds off the CAC Summer Series with a distinct performance integrating music, theatre, and sound engineering. The work plays on the idea of an imaginary railroad line moving through some of the old west's most iconic locations, including the deserts of Texas and New Mexico, Death Valley, and more. Featuring electronic musical instruments designed and built by Parker himself, Narrow Gauge Line takes the bizarre sounds of these instruments and pairs them with structured improvisations to create a unique representation of the mythos of the American West.
