Mollie Oblinger

Artist Statement

The overlooked, whether teeming underfoot or concealed by modern society, is at the center of my work. In the creation of beguiling landscapes, I pluck imagery from my interest in animal tunnels, cellular anatomy and vulnerabilty. Using wholly artificial and man-made materials, I form a kind of composite environment. Shifting between the micro and the macro, I seek to bring out the hidden.
