Artist Details
Mark di Suvero was born in 1933 in Shanghai, China. He received his BA in 1956 from University of California in Berkeley, CA. He has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including at the Stedelijk van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven, The Netherlands (1972); Orange County Museum of Art, Newport Beach, CA (1998); San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco, CA (2013); and Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas, TX (2023). He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Continuity and Change: 45 American Abstract Painters and Sculptors, The Wadsworth Atheneum, Hartford, CT (1962); The American Century: Art and Culture 1900-2000, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY (1999); Committed to Paper: Master Drawings and Prints by Sculptors, Frederick Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, Grand Rapids, MI (2014); and New York: 1962-1964, The Jewish Museum, New York, NY (2022).
