What is 44?
- A monthly arts series expanding Kaplan Hall Lobby
programming to include a variety of arts experiences on the first Saturday of the month
- An opportunity to present artistic creation in a remarkable venue to a demographically appealing audience
- A
way for CAC to demonstrate its support for local artists and to give
those who live and work downtown a way to integrate art into their
daily lives
Who is invited to perform?
- Talented
artists seeking local, national and international brand affiliation
with the CAC: poets, musicians, dancers, singers, actors, playwrights,
visual artists, performance artists, anyone with a great idea and
strong talent
- Established artists and groups seeking to experiment with new concepts with an arts enthusiastic audience
- Emerging artists seeking a central venue to show their talent
What is the cost? Do artists receive a stipend?
44 is a program where the CAC joins forces with artists, and together we present art for the public.
For
this reason, no monetary exchange takes place, either for the arts
performed/exhibited or for the support services/facility use. The
program is free to the public.
CAC
provides significant logistical and promotional resources, including
professional marketing and public relations, in support of artists'
participation.
How do I get involved?
Artists can send an e-mail to
44at44@contemporaryartscenter.org including name, contact information, background and a link to examples
of their work. CAC's 44 programming team will review submissions, and
will contact selected artists to schedule performances.
