Tell us about artistic influences upon your work. Our scripts usually develop from our own personal journals, so our direct experiences, ideas, and feelings are always highly present in our work. Also, friends and strangers' reactions to performances/art (including our own and others) definitely play a big role in our work. Lastly, things (in performance/art) that we think aren't present or lacking push us to explore beyond our own boundaries. Describe the impact you want your work to have on the audience.Stimulating, entertaining, provoking, unusual, or relatable Great stage story that must be told:During "The 4 Food Groups" actors ate a variety of food and beverages while dancing, talking, and performing. Most of the food went everywhere but the performers' mouths, and at the end of the show the entire stage, set, and actors were covered in mashed potatoes, water and fried chicken. At one point, a fellow actor bit my finger, mistaking it for a chicken bone, and I discovered mashed potatoes between my toes after rehearsal as well. Needless to say, I can never look at fried chicken the same way." -Kim Popa "A script was not pre-set before a show and the actor was meant to read their lines (which were taken from an encyclopedia) off of the script. It was very difficult to watch in the wings while they improvised their way through a 15 minute (highly scientific) monologue! Thankfully, he pulled it off, and the audience never knew!" - Lindsey Jones and Kim Popa Favorite art/ artist?Isadora Duncan, Doris Humphry, Merce Cunningham, Joe Goode, William Forsythe, Pilobolus, Karen Finley, Savion Glover, Hedwig and the Angry Inch About Dance 2.0! "Dance 2.0! there was dance, but now there's Dance 2.0!" by Pones Inc. examines the typical performance procedure and experience from three perspectives: the process, the performance, and the product. Portrayed through spoken word, movement, music, and audience involvement this show is presented by five individuals acting as one unit to promote dance 2.0! (the new and improved version of dance as we previously knew and accepted it). The result is a satirical, yet honest look at many of the conventions we have come to accept in the world of performance. "Dance 2.0!" was created, directed, and choreographed by Kim Popa and Lindsey Jones and performed by Elizabeth Byland, Cary Davenport, Kate Kershaw, Jami Hugantobler and Samantha Wright.
